Thauberger's landscapes have included such famous natural sites and wonders as Niagara Falls, the Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone National Park; generic landscapes based on popular landscape types, such as Lake Reflecting Mountains in which staples of the Canadian romantic vocabulary – a red canoe and a mountain lake are ostensibly manipulated to proper symbolic effect.
